As I woke up this morning to a cool 65F I decided to take my morning coffee in my back patio. I was treated to an array of sounds and sights. The mourning doves were busy cooing to each other, and they had a sentinel watching me as I sat on my chair. They continued to coo and enjoy the sunshine that was splashing thru the tree leaves as the breeze moved them.
The doves were joined by the scolding of a wren as the neighbor’s kittens encroached on her territory. The blue jays were announcing their arrival rather loudly but their arrival, didn’t deter the rapping of the woodpecker on a tree as he searched for food in the tree trunk.
The breeze blew across my body, and I didn’t feel chilled. The wind chimes responded by issuing several distinct notes. And I enjoyed their sharpness and clarity.
Two squirrels were playing trapeze artists between the trees and the utility lines. Scampering as fast as they could.
Today it will be hot they have issued a heat advisory and soon we will lock ourselves inside our houses and listen to all the news that are feed us.
Enjoy the sounds and quietness of the morning and carry it with you through the day. This evening take time to see and feel the power of nature returning.
