The spark of inspiration for this blog post ignited from a tantalizing comment that landed in my Twitter feed. A curious follower boldly posed a provocative question: “Why don’t naturist people just pee anywhere, like primitive beings?”
I’ve enjoyed the nudist way of life since being introduced to the idea of social nudity by a friend who told me that his family were nudists. He told me because we were spending a lot of time together and he wanted to warn me that if I went to their home unexpectedly I might catch them naked. Since then I’ve never understood why society regards the desire to be nude as ‘wrong’.
My friendship with Nadine was once an unbreakable bond, a bright light in my life that brought color to each passing day. But as time went on, I could feel it slowly fading away, slipping through my fingers like grains of sand.
Nadine has a smaller family; it’s just her parents and herself and one sister. She has her own bedroom, a sanctuary where she can escape the world and be free to be herself.
